Boys what a tourney. We squeezed every minute out of the Rink today! The Hockey is secondary but it was still a great day on the ice and most importantly no one Sh*t their pants after the Dinner or on the ride Home. I really need to write these recaps right after the tourney as my memormies of this event are starting the smash together.
The only constant is Eddy is always a dick and I am always a 5 regardless of my play.
I would like to congradulate Team White for a great run and Championship and there Captain Brian Taylor who was sooooooo happy to win this over his nemisis Lambchop. Brian’s supporting cast for the 2023 KCup Championship was:
Roger (Hot Shot) Stephan, Coty (I Love) Beers, Pesky Paolo Pecchia, Travis (the Man Child) Richards, Jeff (the Russian) Andreoff, Aaron (the Natural) Jermyn, Guido (the Mule) Dell’Unto, Troy (High Voltage) Doswell, Steve (Smedium) Saunders, and Sweet Toddie Shelton.
What a Crew and on paper not a threat but on the ice they smoked the field! Great work White!

VESNA – Each year we give out 5 key awards and this year the choices were actually quite easy. Our first award is the Virgin Vesna which goes to the goalie with least goals. Although we had a goalie with less goals (9 in regulation) this goalie only let in 11 and was a standout in the final. He made some unbelievable saves including a huge one on me. Next year pack some extra blades – Kcup is no kids games! With a rookie championship under his belt and a Virgin Vesna Award please put your hands together for Troy HIGH VOLTAGE Doswell! come on up you are the 2023 Virgin Vesna award winner
TONYA HARDING – This was a toss up. We saw many instances of dirty play but mostly hooking and some slashing. We saw Team yellow sh*t the bed, we saw Eddy be Eddy, We saw a collision of titans between Beuke and Campbell. We saw Pino go from a Vesna Winner in 22′ to a complete piece of Swiss Cheese in Game 4 this year but I “heard” this one first hand. After a little tussle in front of the net Matt Hannible Stevenson and Spidey Neil Spivey went down in a heap. A classic but somewhat dangerous play that resulted in two penalty shots. The cherry on top was what Spivey man said to Hannibal while sitting on him….”5 years ago I would have fcking killed you for that!” Well that is not Kcup friendly and I am sure just a heat of the moment moment. Nonetheless it was a true Jackass Moment! Wear it proudly Neil! Love ya man
MVP – Typically how this works is the best player gets MVP. And this year is really no different. He got better as the tournament went on and had a total of 8 points in regulation and seemed to score at will. Brady and his teammate Nate lit it up (combined for 23 pts) but could not finish the task, a great team that just came up short. Duane Falls had a respectable 8 pts but Aaron the Natural Jermyn was a difference Maker. Comon up Aaron.
KAWARTHA PUCK PIG – Most points in regulation and it is usually a guy that really owns the tournament and this year he was someone to be reckoned with. He plays a simple game of speed and skill with a sh*t eating grin on his face the whole time, No it is not Tim Grose but Kawartha’s own pride and joy, Brady Liscombe. Great Tourney with 13 points in regulation 11 goals and 2 Apples
ALBERT AWARD (Most Improved) – This guy and ranked himself a 5 and in prior years has played to a 4 but today he secured his future ranking as a 6.5. His Peleton pre-tournament work out really paid off with a huge goal against us. Todd Shelton c’mon up. Honourable mention to Craig Shanks and Matt Zarowny for really contributing and to Liam Shanks for being a little beast out there!.
EMANUEL SANDHU – Well this could be so many people including Jackson for throwing down the gauntlet and not showing up (again! – you need more Peleton Time), Reedo for betting Bross at the end of the night that he would pot 7, Portelli for being a little beatch and shooting a puck at a Real Hockey Player but this goes to a new comer, a beast of a man and Lion that turned out to be a Lamb. With 3 goals and 1 apple and a ranking of 10 (never seen at the KCup before) his team and the tournament expected much much more. I suspect he was just being nice but I bet if he actually hit the net with that missile of a shot things might have been very different.
Welcome to the record book Strongman!
